72 baby snakes seized at Bengaluru airport

This was one contraband that customs sleuths at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru had not bargained for.
The sleuths who spotted two pieces of baggage abandoned by a woman suspected to have arrived on a flight from Bangkok on Wednesday night opened it only to be left dumbstruck by the contraband: 72 baby snakes, including 17 Thai King Cobras that are extremely venomous foreign reptiles for which India doesn’t even have an anti-venom, and carcasses of six primates that had suffocated to death in one of the suitcases, reports Petlee Peter.
