The data available with Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power, shows that a total of 8,738 Public Charging Stations (PCS) are operational in the country as on June 30.
Under Phase-II of FAME-India Scheme, incentives are provided to buyers of electric vehicles in the form of an upfront reduction in the purchase price of electric vehicles. The incentive granted is linked to battery capacity–Rs 10,000/KWh for e-3W and e-4W with a cap of 20 % of the cost of the vehicle. The incentive for e-2W has been fixed at Rs 10,000/KWh with a cap 15% of the cost of the vehicle with effect from June 1.
The Government on May 12 approved a Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for manufacturing of Advance Chemistry Cell (ACC) in the country. The total outlay of the scheme is Rs. 18,100 Crore for a period of 5 years. The scheme envisages establishing a competitive ACC battery manufacturing set up in the country (50 GWh).
Additionally, 5GWh of niche ACC technologies is also covered under the Scheme. The scheme proposes a production linked subsidy based on applicable subsidy per KWh and percentage of value addition achieved on actual sales made by the manufacturers who set up production units.
