In a leg up to e-mobility, the Indian Railway has implemented an all new schedule for as many as 64 Vande Bharat trains along with 70 other train services across the country. The Vande Bharat trains are a series of semi-high-speed intercity electric multiple unit (EMU) trains which are designed and manufactured domestically.

The all new electric trains are capable of reaching speeds of up to 180-200 kilometers per hour, making them one of the fastest trains in India. These trains are also known for their modern features, including seating, improved safety features, automatic doors, Wi-Fi, and GPS-based passenger information systems.

The new comprehensive ‘Trains at a Glance (TAG)’ time table can be accessed on the official website https://indianrailways.gov.in/ of the railway ministry. The new schedule also reflects the revised schedules of some train services within the South Eastern Railways network.

According to the railway authorities the new schedule for the Vande Bharat trains will not just significantly help in improving the network but will also bring more focus on enhancing connectivity, while reducing travel time, and improving passenger experience.

Apart from the schedule for 64 Vande Bharat trains, the department has also released a new schedule for as many as 70 other trains. “The new time table is designed to enhance connectivity between various cities and reduce travel time. Passengers are advised to check the departure and arrival timings as per the new timetable,” the railway ministry said.

According to the ministry, the new time table also brings comfort for passengers while improving efficiency and travel experience with 90 new train services. In the new schedule the ministry has also enhanced the frequency of 12 train services, which is likely to reduce congestion on high-frequency routes. Apart from this the ministry has also announced to enhance the speed of 22 trains and have converted them into the ‘superfast’ category of trains.

Among other key changes, the Agartala-Anand Vihar Rajdhani train is said to be diverted through Malda and Bhagalpur.
