CHANDIGARH: The Haryana sports and youth affairs department has suspended the woman junior coach who had accused junior minister Sandeep Singh of sexual abuse.
The suspension order, issued by sports department director Yashendra Singh on August 11, cited no reason for the action, saying only that the suspension was with immediate effect and “without prejudice”, and that she would be entitled to a subsistence allowance as per the rules.
Sandeep Singh had surrendered the department of sports and youth affairs to CM Manohar Lal Khattar after the registration of a case by the Chandigarh police on December 31, 2022. The police is yet to conclude its investigations.
Sources claimed the junior coach had been suspended for her remarks towards the CM and for raising the issue of her being barred from entering the department as well as the stadium for practice. tnn
