The plenary session of the conference deliberated upon the issues related to G-20 and voice of Global South in context of their sustainable development, human well-being and cultural sensibilities. The updated website of WOSY was also inaugurated at the event along with the release of the book by WOSY scholars.
In the inaugural session of the conference, keynote speaker Sunil Ambekar spoke on issues related to sustainability and said that the world has to think together for sustainable golf. He also said that sustainability is an essential aspect of ‘Bhartiya tradition’ and its eternal values of human existence could play an important role of finding solutions related to contemporary environmental challenges.
In his virtual address, India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar also stated that the challenges related to sustainability should be solved by working collectively. He also threw light on environment friendly lifestyle and said India’s experiences can provide possible solutions for global issues on sustainability.
Prof. Yogesh Singh, Vice Chancellor Delhi University, laid emphasis on the Indic values of sustainability with respect to possible solutions of the environmental issues like climate change etc.
The conference ended with a valedictory address by Ashish Chauhan, National Organising Secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad.
